Aurora Nova is an internationally acclaimed, award-winning burlesque artist and is currently one of Europe’s Top 30 burlesque performers.

Dubbed “The Future of Burlesque”, Aurora is known for her captivating performances, original acts and her incorporation of her highly-skilled dance training.

Background

Originally from Yamba, a small coastal town in Northern NSW, Australia, Aurora has always had a passion for performing from a very young age. She has been dancing since she was 3 years old, and from the age of 5 she competed at high-level competitions & championships throughout Australia, consistently winning in a variety of dance styles, incl. ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary dance, lyrical, commercial and musical theatre.

At 18 years of age, Aurora was accepted in to the prestigious New Zealand School of Dance (the national ballet and contemporary school of NZ) and trained professionally for 3-years, full-time (6 days a week), specializing as a contemporary dancer and training in a multitude of styles and techniques.
During and after her professional training, she completed internships with the top dance companies and choreographers in NZ and Australia, including Australian Dance Theatre and Footnote Dance Company.

Now based in Leeds, UK (North England), Aurora quickly became one of UK and Europe’s best burlesque performers after her debut in 2017. Alongside her stellar burlesque career, Aurora is an accomplished multi-disciplined artist working as a professional freelance contemporary dancer, in-demand choreographer, teacher, motion capture actor and model.

Aurora prides herself on creating original acts that stand out from the crowd, with ALL of Aurora’s acts being highly polished, dynamic and completely unique in style, concept and costume. Ranging from tap-dancing Showgirl, to innovative Neo-burlesque, and everything in between, Aurora can entertain all types of audiences.

Aurora is renowned for her versatility, being skilled in a variety of dance styles incl. acro-dance, floorwork, commercial heels, ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary dance and more. Her experience in a vast array of dance forms has led to her creating her own unique style, which makes her not only an in-demand performer, but also a highly sought-after teacher and choreographer.

Choreography and creation are Aurora’s greatest passions, and has extensive experience creating dance works for companies and individual artist. She is available for choreography and act commissions, both individual and group, in a range of styles.

Currently Aurora teaches regular burlesque, sexy floorwork, tap dance, floorwork tricks and other classes at Dance Studio Leeds. And often tours around UK & Europe teaching her unique workshops. Check out her upcoming classes in Leeds!
