For the first time EVER, multi-award winning burlesque artist & professional dancer from the UK, Aurora Nova, is teaching her signature workshops in Melbourne, Australia! She is only teaching * 2 * workshops while on tour in Melbourne (and probably won't be back for a long time), so these are not to be missed!

TEACHER BIO

Professional dancer, teacher and choreographer, Aurora Nova is known as the 'Future of Burlesque' and is currently one of Europe's most in-demand performers, regularly touring and headlining shows across the continent.

Originally from Australia and trained professionally at the esteemed New Zealand School of Dance, Aurora is experienced in a variety of dance styles, i.e. ballet, contemporary, acro-dance, tap, commercial heels, lyrical and more. Utilizing her variety of skills, she is renowned for creating innovative, dynamic choreography and unique burlesque acts.

Aurora has extensive experience performing and teaching in both the burlesque and contemporary dance industry. She regularly teaches sold-out workshops across the Europe, as well as teaching weekly classes in her home-base of Leeds, UK.

Sexy Floorwork Workshop (Utrecht, Netherlands)

Set the floor on FIRE with international performer and renowned floorwork queen, Aurora Nova!

Professional dancer, teacher and choreographer, Aurora Nova is trained in many dance forms, and specializes in floorwork and acro-dance. Famous for her incredible floorwork skills and choreography, Aurora will teach you a badass floorwork routine, with lots of smooth transitions and a few spicy tricks. Discover a new world of movement, creation and performance!

What this workshop covers:

  • Warm-up & stretch

  • Strengthening exercises

  • Range of floorwork techniques

  • Performance & movement qualities

  • Fierce floorwork routine

Lots of options will be given to modify (easier or harder), so you can take the class at your own pace. Floorwork is medium-impact and not suitable for those who aren't comfortable bearing weight on their knees, shoulders or wrists.

Dance & movement is for EVERY body:

This class is suitable for all levels of experience (beginners welcome). All genders & identities are welcome.

What to wear & what to bring:

Anything you feel comfortable and confident in! Kneepads strongly recommended to protect your knees and to turn/slide. If not wearing kneepads, please wear long pants. Water bottle.
